
Martin J. Kaplan, MD (Retired)
Allergy Specialist/Immunologist
Dr. Martin J. Kaplan founded Allergy and Asthma
Consultants, Ltd. in 1978 after a successful career in general pediatrics. Dr. Kaplan attended the
University of Minnesota for both his undergraduate and medical school training. After concluding his formal
medical education, he began his clinical training at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago,
Illinois. Dr. Martin then completed his training at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell
University Medical Center, where he remained on the teaching faculty.
He subsequently returned to the Chicago area, where
he practiced general pediatrics with a special interest in allergy and immunology. Dr. Kaplan is certified by
The American Board of Allergy and Immunology, The American Board of Pediatrics and The American Board of
Pediatrics, sub-board of Pediatric Allergy. He is a member of The College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology,
The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, as well as The American Academy of Pediatrics. He is
currently an assistant professor of pediatrics at Northwestern University-Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr.
Kaplan is a member of the medical staffs at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare, Highland Park Hospital and Children's
Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He has held positions of leadership in local and national allergy organizations
and has received special honors and recognitions.
Dr. Martin Kaplan retired from Allergy &
Asthma Consultants, Ltd. after nearly 50 years as a physician. We wish him the very best during his
retirement.
